Join us for an exciting evening with author and cinema historian Dr. Thomas A. Christie from Extremis Publishing as we delve into the legacy of Braveheart – the Oscar-winning epic that brought William Wallace’s story to life!
In celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary, and the star-studded premier that was held at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, enjoy behind-the-scenes talk sharing insights and fascinating anecdotes that shaped this iconic 1995 blockbuster.
Discover how Braveheart not only shaped modern perceptions of Scottish history but also played a significant role in reinvigorating the identity and international profile of Stirling, the historic city at the heart of Wallace’s rebellion. From cinematic myth-making to real-world tourism, and from local impact to national pride, Dr Christie traces the threads that link Hollywood spectacle with Scotland’s story. A Q&A session will follow the talk.
Tea/Coffee included in your ticket!
Plus, enjoy a FREE ENTRY to the National Wallace Monument from September 8th to 14th with your ticket. (Just show your Eventbrite confirmation at the front desk).
Don’t miss out on this remarkable journey through cinema and history!
