In a welcoming and encouraging environment, Iwona will teach you how to make a contemporary stained glass festive decoration – you can choose from an angel or a star – to take home.
You will learn how to:
- transfer a pre-prepared festive design onto your choice of stained glass;
- score and break glass and grind sharp glass edges;
- apply copper foil and solder to all pieces of your design together; and
finish with patina, clean and polish.
This will be an immersive, creative experience where you will learn how to use a variety of stained glass tools such as glass cutters, pliers, electric glass grinder and soldering iron.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners in stained glass, aged 16+. You can join this workshop individually or as a group.
All materials and equipment, including safety equipment (mask, gloves, safety goggles) will be provided.
For your own comfort and safety please wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no open toes), tie back long hair and remove any loose jewellery (i.e. long dangly earrings, chains, bracelets etc.). This workshop can be a little bit messy so wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty and/or damaged and please bring your own apron.
By the end of the workshop, you will take home a stained glass festive decoration made by your own hands. You will also learn essential skills to prepare you for any future copper foil projects in stained glass and further your techniques and knowledge in workshop settings.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
