Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT Festival has revealed the much-anticipated first wave of acts on its lineup for 2025, unveiling huge headliners and global icons performing across Scotland’s biggest live music event from 11th - 13th July.
For the eighth year, 150,000 festival goers will descend on Glasgow Green and fans should get ready to secure their place. Fans can get their hands on fantastic early bird priced tickets for a limited time when tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday 6th December via www.trnsmtfest.com.
American rap icon 50 Cent will headline on the festival’s opening day, hot off the heels of his first-ever Las Vegas residency scheduled for early 2025. A Grammy, BRIT and three-time MOBO-winning artist and actor, this performance will mark the first rapper to headline TRNSMT since Stormzy’s set in 2019.
Legendary Scottish band Biffy Clyro will headline Saturday bringing their festival-ready anthems to Glasgow Green. After playing three sold-out shows at the Barrowland Ballroom earlier this year, Biffy will treat fans to a walk down memory lane with a setlist spanning hits from all nine albums.
Adopted homegrown heroes Snow Patrol will close the festival, returning to Scotland following their The Forest Is The Path 2025 world tour. Their single Chasing Cars was crowned the most popular song of the 21st Century in July 2019, having had more radio plays than any other track, according to music licensing company PPL. So, TRNSMT goers will be pleased to see them back on the main stage to bring down the curtain of TRNSMT 2025 with the ultimate singalong.
Rising through the ranks of Scotland’s famed music scene in the late 90s after meeting at Dundee University, the band have gone on to fill stadiums across the world and, alongside Biffy Clyro, 2025 will mark the second year in a row Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT has welcomed homegrown talent as its headline acts.
Irish pop-rock band The Script will take to the stage ahead of 50 Cent on Friday, on the back of their seventh studio album Satellites as part of the records’ world tour. With an amazing show at the OVO Hydro just last week, fans have another chance to see the band play in Glasgow this summer.
Post-punk Irish band Fontaines D.C, who met while attending music college and bonded over a common love of poetry, join the Saturday bill following their fourth album ROMANCE. A band that songwriting legend Elton John recently declared “the best band out there at the moment”, TRNSMT goers have a lot to look forward to.
The phenomenal Gracie Abrams, one of the most in-demand artists in the world right now, will perform on Sunday evening. Off the back of supporting Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour and currently holding number 1 in the UK charts for the past 4 weeks, Gracie will bring her Grammy-nominated hits during a set that is not to be missed.
Friday:
Indie rock duo Wet Leg will bring their infectious energy and witty lyrics to TRNSMT’s main stage. After breaking into the music scene with their debut single, Chaise Longue, they’ve been one of the fastest-growing indie bands of the past few years, and their return to TRNSMT will be eagerly awaited by fans.
Irish rap group Kneecap, the trailblazing group behind their award-winning self-titled film that has captivated audiences worldwide will be performing on Friday 11th July with a high-energy set. Speaking of their appearance at the festival, Kneecap said: “Glasgow is always one of our favourite cities to play in… To be playing the biggest festival in the city, we are absolutely buzzing.”
Hot off the heels of his headline Hydro show, Jamie Webster will get the Glasgow crowd bouncing once again on Friday 11th July, and Confidence Man, who were recently named on the prestigious BBC Sound of 2025 list, will bring their infectious energy to the first day of the festival. Known for their exhilarating live shows, they are guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.
More acts playing on Friday 11th July include Twin Atlantic, The Royston Club, Calum Bowie and Tanner Adell.
Saturday:
The Kooks, celebrated for their singalong hit singles including Naive, Seaside and Ooh La will appear at TRNSMT on Saturday. As one of the most recognisable names in indie of the last decade, the band will play at TRNSMT following an Australian tour announced last month.
Across the Saturday, dance music legends Underworld who are renowned for their electrifying live performances and iconic anthems like Born Slippy, promise to bring a truly unforgettable moment for fans plus, Inhaler will bring their dynamic indie anthems, cementing themselves as one of the most exciting bands of their generation.
Sigrid, Wunderhorse, Jake Bugg, James Marriott, Biig Piig, and Amble also join the bill on Saturday 12th July.
Sunday:
90s rock band Shed Seven will join the lineup on the final day of the 2025 festival, marking an immense comeback which has seen them achieve two number 1 albums in 2024, three decades after the band formed.
The Lathums, The K’s, Nina Nesbitt, Nieve Ella, Rianne Downey, and Kerr Mercer will also play on the final day of the festival.
Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT, said: “After a record-breaking sell-out in 2024, we can’t wait to have everyone back for the eighth year of incredible live music.
“We've worked hard to pull together an eclectic lineup including homegrown headliners and global icons, spanning a range of genres we know music fans of all ages will love.
“There are plenty more acts and festival experiences to be announced next year so, keep your eyes peeled.”
Many more acts are still to be added across all four stages.
