Now in its twelfth year, the free-to-attend festival is expected to attract almost 30,000 festival goers to the area on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September.
The festival aims to cater to all tastes, with a huge array of local and national suppliers. A licenced bar area will be serving up everything from locally-brewed ales and ciders, to artisan gins, and visitors can even enjoy wine and prosecco served from a converted horse box. Foodies can attend free drop-in cookery demos and get inspiration on making mealtimes at home truly tasty as well as sampling some of the great Scottish menu choices that will be on offer from The Shore, when they open at Loch Lomond Shores soon.
Budding junior chefs can also get their hands dirty with free cooking sessions for kids, just one of the amazing free activities for children. Saturday 2nd will see a mini petting zoo with all manner of furry creatures, reptiles and creepy crawlies setting up in Loch Lomond Shores’ Mall.
McIntosh Foods are once again a sponsor of this year’s festival and will be adding to the line-up of free activities for families to enjoy. Their famous haggis-eating competition is sure to be a festival highlight as contestants battle it out to tackle one pound of haggis and be crowned champion. McIntosh Food’s mascot, Mr Macaroni, will also be in attendance. Families can meet the colourful character, take part in the Mr Macaroni Trail and enter the colouring competition.
A new addition to the line-up this year is The JIM BEAM® Bourbon BBQ Experience, who are also a sponsor of the event for the first time. The Jim Beam BBQ team will be showcasing their bourbon BBQ sauce and their refreshing signature summer serve, The Jim Beam Highball.
Kat Kennedy, festival organiser said: "We have been working hard to secure a diverse selection of producers for the festival and we’re sure visitors won’t be disappointed by the excellent selection of foods and drinks on offer from across the country and beyond. There is a vibrant mix of live entertainment on offer too, from music to cooking demos, kids workshops and much more. All we ask from visitors is that they bring their appetite!"
