Join us for a fantastic weekend of screen printing with Lorna Brown, aka Blessed Unrest. Over two days you familiarise yourself with print tools, equipment, and primary printmaking techniques, and build the confidence to develop your own print designs. Use a combination of pre-exposed screens and your own cut stencils to layer up colour and pattern. Develop your own personalised collection of fine art screen prints ready to frame, as gifts or just for you! All are welcome, whether you’re a beginner looking to create some high impact art, or an established artist developing a portfolio of new work, join us for this colour filled weekend! All tools, materials, refreshments and treats are included.
Day 1:
You will be introduced to a variety of Fine Art screen print examples. Using prepared screens and a range of prepared pigment inks Lorna will demonstrate how to create contemporary abstract prints. Using a wide range of mark making and layered print techniques as well as hand cut paper stencils you will develop a range of experimental samples using transparent and opaque inks on heavy weight cartridge.
Day 2:
You will discuss your favourite samples with Lorna and then create an individual outline and plan for the day. You will refine your favourite screen print techniques from day one and select a final colour palette before developing a small collection of personalised prints on fine art quality printmaking papers.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
