About Sea Glass Pendant and Earrings
Suitable for complete beginners, this 2-day workshop is an ideal introduction to jewellery making using found objects.
This course introduces basic jewellery techniques such as sawing, drilling, filing and soldering. Additionally, students will learn stone setting, achieving simple bezel settings to beautifully frame sea glass. Choose the perfect pieces of found sea glass from our extensive selection or bring your own beach treasures along.
The course will begin with a series of demonstrations on how to saw pierce, shape and apply a variety of textures and finishes to silver. We’ll practice these techniques before learning how to create bezel settings for sea glass. Students will be leave the course having learned how to make a pendant and earrings.
What to bring: We’ll provide all the things you will need to make your unique sea glass jewellery, however you are also welcome to bring your own sea glass. A small sketchbook or notebook for notes and designs could come in handy for this workshop. Please bring along glasses if you need them and wear appropriate clothing for a studio environment including closed-toe shoes. If you have long hair, please wear it up.
