In this beginner-level weekend workshop, you’ll learn all about the traditional techniques and tools used to make jewellery.
We’ll cover a checklist of essential techniques such as sawing, filing, annealing, texturing, shaping, and soldering. Our expert tutors will demonstrate every step of the process and then guide you as you practise your new skills. To begin with, you will get creative with copper, learning the skills and experimenting until you have the confidence to move on and create a finished piece in silver.
You can choose to make a ring, a bangle, a pendant, or a pair of earrings, and depending on the level of complexity you might even come away with a small collection! Our talented tutors will be on hand to help you come up with designs using your ideas and inspirations. This course is a great starting point if you are taking your first steps in jewellery making, or if you just want a fun-filled creative weekend.
This course does not include stone setting but is a good building block for learning the techniques you will need to progress to stone setting. Why not check our upcoming schedule for stone setting or sea glass workshops if you’d like to move on to these more advanced techniques after your beginner’s workshop.
Level: Suitable for all
What to bring:
We’ll provide all the things you will need to start making jewellery including tools, copper, and a small amount of silver. Extra silver will be available to purchase at cost price if you’d like to work on a bigger project or multiple pieces
