Introduction to Modern Weaving
This workshop will introduce you to the materials, tools and methods of Modern Weaving.
You will be shown how to set up a small handmade loom, how to customise a picture frame to make a larger loom, the warp & weft, how to start and finish a piece of weaving, different stitches to use and how to add inclusions including fringing and pom poms.
No experience needed – this workshop is ideal for beginners.
All materials provided, including inspiration imagery. There will be a choice of yarns - though please feel free to bring your own if you have a specific colourway you’d like to work with.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Everyone will leave the workshop with their own woven masterpiece and information sheet.
The class will be 2.5 hours, this should give you time to make at least one small woven piece, and check out the samples and books I will bring.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
