Come along and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of The Stitchery, meet new people, and get expert help with your creations. Bring along your up-cycling, your alterations, or any unfinished projects that you just need a little help with.
Each session is 4 hours long, but you are welcome to come and go as you please. We have sewing machines available but you are welcome to bring along your own machine. We also have an overlocker (Janome 6234XL) and a coverlocker (Janome Cover Pro 2000CPX) that are available on request. You are also very welcome to bring along your own sewing machine if you prefer.
What’s Included:
Use of a studio sewing machine, the Janome 230DC
Use of the overlocker and coverlock machines.
4 hours with expert advice on your projects, including expertise in sustainable sewing practices.
Complete use of the studio space, cutting table, and tools.
A selection of threads, patterns, and other haberdashery for sale in studio.
A chance to meet other sewers and be more involved in the local sewing community.
Please note, the Sewing Sessions are not intended as a beginners sewing class and those attending should have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine. If you’re looking to learn how to sew, please enquire about private tuition or have a look at our beginners courses.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
