New to film photography or want a re-fresh? Would like to give it a go but don’t know where to start? Bit scared by the whole thing??!! This one day course will introduce you to film photography - you will learn about film and film types, film cameras and how to use them and some basic principles of photography. You will get to put your learning into practice by shooting a roll of film on a photowalk and then help to process and develop to get a set of useable negatives.
1.0 Audience
For people completely new to film photography and want to learn or those that have done film photography before and want a refresh or develop their skills more. It would be helpful to have some photographic basic knowledge but not critical.

Age 14 + unless super keen !

• Basic Principles of photography
• What is film and how does it work
• Film types
• Choosing the right film for the right purpose
• Film cameras - types and operation
• Light - how it works - metering and playing with it
• Photo walk - shoot a roll of black and white
• Process the film - developing, chemicals
• Using the negatives
4.0 Outcome
Participants will have a good understanding of the basics of film photography in terms of camera and film types, shooting film and helping to develop their first film.
5.0 Duration
One full day for 8 people
6.0 Equipment
• Projector and screen
• Changing bags
• Developing tanks
• Chemicals
• Access to running water
Participants can bring their own camera or we will have a range of cameras to use if required.
