Join us for a therapeutic half day of rhythmic knotting, and learn how to make a beautiful macrame plant hanger. First we’ll cover all the key knots you’ll need to combine and create your hangers. Once you’ve mastered the basics you’ll be able to explore different knot combinations to design and make your own hangers in a style and colour combo to suit your home.
Macrame is a versatile and accessible craft that has come in and out of our lives for hundreds of years. It is a basic knotting technique that can be achieved with minimal equipment and is a great way to use found and foraged materials. It is built up from a series of knots that can be as simple or as complex as you like, to create decorative or functional pieces for your home, or even for fashion! On this introductory workshop you’ll leave with a beautiful finished planter, but also a library of knot knowledge that will help you continue to learn and work on your own projects at home.
All tools are provided for use at the workshop and materials are included in the course cost
Tea and coffee are provided but participants should bring their own lunch and utensils
All of our classes are suitable for over 16s, younger crafters may be accommodated if accompanied by a participating adult but please contact us before booking
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
