Always admiring glass art pieces? This is your chance to get creative and have fun designing and making your own fused glass art!
Fused glass is the process of joining two or more pieces of glass together at high heat, usually in a kiln. Small pieces of cut glass and glass strands can be placed on a piece of clear glass to create a design, and fused into place in a kiln. During this one day course you will learn all about fused glass and how to design and assemble your fused glass pieces, as well as a variety of glass fusing techniques suited to your design concept.
What will you make:
- 2 x Festive tea light holders
- 2 x Festive window hanger (3cm x 15cm)
- 1 x Festive frameable art piece (9cm x 9cm)
- 2 x Festive drinks stirrers
No experience necessary, all glass and equipment will be supplied and all the items that you make will be yours to keep. You will be shown how to use small pieces of glass, crushed glass, stringers and glass paints to create your design. Your glass creations will then be fired in a kiln which will take place offsite.
A lovely lunch is included in your ticket price and will be provided by The Kitchen at 44, please tell us about any dietary requirements when booking.
After the day course, Shonah will take your pieces home to fire them in her kiln and bring back to the hub for collection. Participants will be notified when pieces are ready for collection.
