A packed audience enjoyed outstanding performances from some of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming artists, including Wrest, Ben Walker, Abbie Gordon, and Rosie Alice, before the eagerly awaited winners were revealed.
Key winners on the night were Biffy Clyro, awarded the Legend Award, Callum Beattie - Best Acoustic, Bemz - Best Hiphop/ Rap - and Young Fathers, who claimed Live Act of the Year. Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom also took home the title of Best Venue, cementing its place as a cornerstone of Scotland’s music culture.
Ross Coutts, from Xfire.Live, the company behind the awards, said: “It’s incredible to see the breadth of talent we have in this industry – both on and off stage. These artists, bands, venues, festivals, and individuals are the heartbeat of the Scottish live music scene. Thursday night was a special opportunity to embrace and celebrate that. A huge congratulations to all the winners and runner-ups!”
Callum Beattie, Best Acoustic Artist, dedicated his award to aspiring musicians: “I’m absolutely delighted to win a Scottish Live Music Award. We’re in one of the hardest industries in the world, and I admire anybody who gives it a shot.”
Bemz, Best Hiphop/ Rap said: “I’m grateful to my peers and my team, hopefully we can go on to have a successful 2025. Big up everyone who’s trying and putting in work, without them the scene and culture doesn’t move forward.”
The evening marked the conclusion of the debut SLMA season, which received over 16,000 nominations and 84,000 public votes, before finalists were judged by a 40-strong panel of experts from across the industry.
