Join us for a creative stone set pendant workshop and make yourself a beautiful semi-precious gem and silver insect necklace in just a day! On this one day introductory workshop we’ll explore a range of different techniques, including bezel, or rub-over setting, and tab setting. We’ll cover the basic techniques of saw piercing, soldering, measuring, filing and polishing as you create your silver bezel setting, and turn it into a stunning pendant to take home and treasure. Choose from our vast selection of semi precious gem stones to create exactly the necklace you want. Tab setting is a great alternative setting technique that lends itself well to a bit of creativity and experimentation. It doesn’t involve any heat or soldering so you can use it to set unconventional small objects such as shells and small buttons. It’s a great technique for anyone working in found objects, or for those who don’t have the confidence to work with a torch on their own.
Level:
The Stone Set Pollinator Pendant Workshop is a beginners class for brand new jewellers, or anyone who wants to add to their repertoire of jewellery skills. It’s a great class to combine with our other beginners workshop as you begin to build up your jewellery skill set.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
