Join us for a creative stone set pendant workshop and make yourself a beautiful semi-precious gem and silver insect necklace in just a day! On this one day introductory workshop we’ll explore a range of different techniques, including bezel, or rub-over setting, and tab setting. We’ll cover the basic techniques of saw piercing, soldering, measuring, filing and polishing as you create your silver bezel setting, and turn it into a stunning pendant to take home and treasure. Choose from our vast selection of semi precious gem stones to create exactly the necklace you want. Tab setting is a great alternative setting technique that lends itself well to a bit of creativity and experimentation. It doesn’t involve any heat or soldering so you can use it to set unconventional small objects such as shells and small buttons. It’s a great technique for anyone working in found objects, or for those who don’t have the confidence to work with a torch on their own.
Level:
The Stone Set Pollinator Pendant Workshop is a beginners class for brand new jewellers, or anyone who wants to add to their repertoire of jewellery skills. It’s a great class to combine with our other beginners workshop as you begin to build up your jewellery skill set.
